The AVON Cleansers (and Scrubs) every woman should know about.

I know most people don’t think of AVON as a high end brand but I’ve come to find that what they do, do very well. Last November, I noticed I was breaking out more at a certain time of month (you know what I’m talking about ladies) and even though my Simple Kind to Skin Hydration Cleansing Oil was doing a banging job – during those days, it wasn’t quite as effective and the blackheads created by the breakouts were making it harder for me to achieve the flawless skin I want.

So on my quest to find a solution for those 6 days; I turned to Neutrogena but ever since they discontinued their blue VISIBLY CLEAR® Daily Scrub, I haven’t been able to use their products. The NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR® Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub just doesn’t seem to work as effectively as the blue one.

I was browsing through an AVON brochure one day and noticed they have quite an extensive range of cleansers and scrubs. Since then, I’ve tried a few, and these are the once I swear by during days my hormones are all over the place. Once my body goes back to normal, I just revert back to my gentle, Simple Kind to Skin Hydration Cleansing Oil. Let’s start with my favourite:

AVON ClearSkin Professional: Deep Pore Cleansing Scrub – £5.50

I love this gritty cleansing scrub because it really gets the job done. The moment I feel a pimple surfacing, I start using it and within 24 hrs, it’s completely blitzed it into submission. I think that’s the Salicylic Acid and Glycolic Acid in it working. It’s the first step in the AVON Clear Skin Professional range which also includes ClearSkin Professional Clarifying Toner Pads (£3.25) and ClearSkin Professional Daily Correcting Lotion (£4.25)

The ClearSkin Professional: Deep Pore Cleansing Scrub is gentle so I use it daily during troubled times followed by the ClearSkin Professional Clarifying Toner Pads. I haven’t felt the need to use the ClearSkin Professional Daily Correcting Lotion because step 1 and 2 works so well. It really is my secret weapon when my skin is in trouble and I’d recommend it for that time of the month.

ClearSkin Pore penetrating Invigorating Scrub – £4

Another scrub worth taking note of from AVON is this Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub. It’s minty, and has very big  grains which scrubs away all dead skin and dirt. I found it to be quite an aggressive scrub so I wouldn’t recommend it for daily use. I use it once a week and it always leaves my skin feeling very clean. I’m a big fan.

Clearskin Blackhead Clearing 3 in 1 White Clay Cleanser – £3.50

I haven’t used this for a while (no blackheads yay!) but I like knowing I have it in my arsenal should the need arise. It was a God send back when I was breaking out around the clock. It has Blackhead Clarifying Technology that lifts out dirt, debris and excess oil which can lead to blackheads, to help revive, refresh and deep clean all in one.
Just put it on, leave for a few minutes; and rinse when the colour changes from blue to white – job done. Clever eh?

Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask – £5

My final secret weapon from AVON is this Clearskin Pore Penetrating Black Mineral Mask. I must admit it took me a while to take to it because I felt it was a little on the light side – too liquid perhaps? I was used to thick masks you just slather on but I’ve come to appreciate this one thanks to its oil absorbing qualities. Yes, it acts like a magnet to pull out pore clogging dirt and help leave skin feel perfectly clean and clear. Just spread on face, wait for it to transforms from black to light grey, then rinse off.
