I’ve had these Makeup Revolution silicone sponges for some time, but it’s taken a while for me to try them mainly because I wasn’t sure what to expect. They feel so different to touch and I wasn’t sure how I would use them but finally here we are.
After previewing them on Instagram, a lot of you wanted to know what these sponges felt like, and whether they work so I’ve been trying them out all week.
The sponges are from Makeup Revolution as I mentioned before and comes in a pack of three – in different shapes. The idea is to use each shape for a different part of the face. It’s designed to get to hard to reach areas normal sponges don’t, and works well with cream or liquid makeup products.
Obviously, because it’s made of silicone, cleaning these sponges are a doodle, either clean with makeup wipes or just run under water to get product off.
It also became very clear, very quickly that when using these silicone sponges, you use less products as they don’t absorb any product like normal sponges or makeup brushes so that’s a huge plus as you won’t run out quickly.
It did get the job done i.e., good foundation coverage but it took longer than a brush would have to get the coverage I wanted; but compared with other makeup sponges, I’d say it’s less work. As I have always thought blending with a normal sponge requires a lot more energy for blending.
These silicone sponges do take some time to get used to but once you get past the slipperiness, it gets the job done with less product so I have no complaints.
Have you tried silisponges yet? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
