London Fashion Week which starts today and New York is already a distant memory. The entire capital has got fashion fever and here’s a few events to sink your teeth into:
This year, there’s a lot to look forward including Tom Ford’s first ever full-scale catwalk show in the capital, which according to reports has a record number of US buyers rushing to our shores.
We will also see Rihanna launch her own fashion line for high street chain River Island. She’s debuting her collection with a catwalk show at Somerset House, and it’s currently the hot ticket of the week.
After a brief hiatus, Julien Macdonald is back. Absent for two seasons to focus on his bespoke collection, his return is very eagerly anticipated so get in line at the elaborate Goldsmiths’ Hall for his autumn/winter 2013 ready-to-wear collection.
This year, Topshop has teamed up with tech giant Google to enhance the viewing experience of fans. The high street chain has created a state-of-the-art camera, named Model Cam, to be worn on selected models during the show, so that viewers can see and feel what models experience when they hit the catwalk. The footage will be projected into the show space and also across all digital platforms.
Another event worth attention is the London Plus Size Fashion Weekend, it takes place on Saturday 16th February at Shoreditch Town Hall from 10am.
There will also be several pop up stores around the capital, including one from Brown Focus who have hired styling power couple Damian Collins and Avigail Claire to curate the space – which is dedicated to Nineties-inspired branded clothing. The pair will also be on hand to offer style advice to any shoppers.
And London’s most packed fashion weekend, The London Fashion Weekend will take place between the 21 – 24 of February allowing fashionistas to fill their boots with affordable designer fashion pieces.
There’s a lot to do this fashion week so jump on the bandwagon and enjoy all that the capital has to offer.
