Aston Martin Cygnet goes into production.
Aston Martin has confirmed that the Cygnet will go into production in 2011 at the company’s Gaydon headquarters in Warwickshire.According to Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s director of design ‘“Cygnet is small but luxurious, an Aston Martin tailor-fit for the city,” Reichman said. “Luxury is not constrained by scale.”
Unlike other Aston Martin productions, the Cygnet will have emissions of 113g/km making it the cleanest Aston and also help lower the brand’s average CO2 profile.
The Aston Martin Cygnet will ship with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine but by late 2013 an all-electric version with a 60 mile range is expected to arrive.
The Aston Martin Cygnet goes on sale in late spring 2011. Existing Aston Martin customers will be offered the car first before it goes on general sale.
