Retinol’s the rage right now, and for a good reason. It can transform skin but I’m a little weary of it because I have sensitive skin that usually reacts adversely to strong acids.
Personally, I prefer skincare products with plant alternatives as they tend to be gentler on skin but I decided to take a leap with this Baebody Retinol Moisturizer, because of the additional ingredients. The main ingredient is Retinol, but there’s also Vitamin E, Vitamin B5, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, and Green Tea; all of which are soothing and make the moisturiser less harsh on sensitive skin.
The Baebody Retinol Moisturizer is designed to help improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, discoloration, and hyperpigmentation. It boosts the skin’s renewal process by removing old skin cells and stimulating the growth of new ones to brighten skin.
Baebody is an American skincare brand that seems to have come from nowhere to take the internet by storm. It only launched in the UK last August but its products have been very popular on Amazon for a long time. All Baebody products are cruelty-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free, making them safe for all skin types.
I like that this retinol face cream is multi-purpose and tackles several skin concerns. It works as an anti-aging moisturiser if you’re looking to tackle wrinkles and fine lines. It’s also great as a hydrating moisturiser thanks to the Vitamin E, Shea Butter, and Jojoba Oil.
I don’t have issues with the above two but I do have hyperpigmentation, which this retinol moisturiser keeps in check by renewing skin cells to reveal a brighter complexion.
Lemon in colour and creamy in texture, I found this retinol cream to be very gentle. Normally, if I decide to try an acid skincare product, I use it once or twice a week to limit the chance of irritation but this is so gentle, I’ve been using it on my face, neck, and décolletage every day. It’s the first retinol product I’ve used in a long time that hasn’t irritated my skin.
