New City Location
City workers are in for a treat; Euphorium Bakery, one of London’s oldest artisan bakeries has just opened a flagship store on Threadneedle Street.
At the official launch last week, I was really impressed with the interior – high ceilings, handmade wooden tables and traditional furnishings, a sitting area over two floors and interesting paintings too. It has a relaxed vibe, a place where you’d want to sit and have lunch with friends or grab a quick bite if you are on the go.
The bakery will be serving hand baked pastries and bread, (I especially enjoyed the muesli bread), freshly made sandwiches and salads, and cakes. It also has a gourmet coffee bar upstairs.
The location also has a great new carvery with delicious meats which I loved – no surprise there. A sample menu include 28 Day matured Scottish roast beef rib with whole grain mustard, gherkin, beef tomato, horseradish cream served on a brioche bap, lemon and herb roast turkey with cheddar, crispy bacon, cucumber, sundried tomatoes, served on a ciabatta bun, among others. Prices start from £5.95.
This was my first encounter with Euphorium Bakery and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I understand they have other locations round the capital which I’ll be looking out for.
Tip: the official address of the new City location is 60 Threadneedle Street. EC2R 8HP but the bakery is actually round the corner off Threadneedle Street. (Just saved you half an hour combing the length and breath of Threadneedle Street.)
