The beauty train was in town this week to celebrate all things beauty and despite the best efforts of the rail networks to thwart visitors’ journey’s with lack of service, the Grand Hall at Olympia was filled to capacity on the first day of the event which was the Sunday.
Now in its 10th year, Olympia Beauty has become a tradition for me the past three years, a place to uncover all the latest beauty launches and new treatments coming out and that’s exactly what I was on the haunt for on my visit to Olympia Beauty. There were over a hundred new launches this year as well as the Nailympics competition.
While I couldn’t visit every single stand, I did manage a few. Starting with one of my favourite brands, O.P.I, they showcased their new Nordic Collection as well as the launch of 19 new limited edition holiday nail lacquers inspired by No Doubt singer Gwen Stefani! The seasonal collection includes an assortment of red, maroon, burgundy, and forest green hues, along with shimmer-packed silver, gold and black shades.
I also stopped by Jane Iredale; this was my first time getting close and personal with Jane Iredale and I liked what I saw. Jane Iredale is a mineral cosmetics brand and so far their mascara is the only one that doesn’t make my eyes water so it gets a huge thumbs up for that. The current collection – City Nights collection is specifically for autumn and comprises of a trio of matte pearl, shimmery port wine and toasted caramel shadows and gel eyeliners in jewel tones for the eyes. For lips, a nourishing lipstick and gloss in pigmented shades of plum.
Here are my other highlights:
