After shutting down for a week to refurbish and refresh its menu, French inspired bistro Café Rouge in Kingsway reopened its doors with a newly created Rejuve menu, wine list and a new traditional Parisian style design.
The new Paris Metro theme can be seen and sensed throughout the bistro; from the decadent mirrors and ‘Kingsway’ signage to the décor which gives an authentic French heritage fused with a classic and romantic style feel.

There was a buzz around the bistro at the launch; not just from the staff but from the chef, Duncan Mcewan who portrayed his excitement through his new Rejuve menu, marrying classic French flavours and contemporary cuisine on a plate.
The entire team, genuinely couldn’t wait for us to try the menu; and who can blame them? It is delicious! From sharing boards, and 35 day aged steaks to mouth-watering desserts; the new Rejuve menu is a winner! I even tried snails which I am not a fan of but found myself wolfing down Chef Mcewan’s snail and mushroom pie like a habitual snail eater. The wines aren’t bad either, all French of course. As a lover of red wines, I highly recommend their Malbec.
The bistro struck me as an easy going eatery where families can enjoy a good meal but also the sections with rouge leather banquettes and velvet curtains, vintage swan necked wall lights and chandeliers will do nicely for a romantic evening or after work dinners.
With prices starting from a reasonable £5.25, I think Café Rouge Kingsway have got themselves a regular diner in me.
The brand plans to roll out many refurbishments over the next six months with the fabulous new Rejuve menu so keep an eye on your local branch of Café Rouge.
