I was at Eccleston Square Hotel, a designer Georgian hotel in London Victoria recently to try the new cocktail hour, which offers 3 solid hours of happy hour (5pm – 8pm) with half priced cocktails (£4.75).
I found the hotel itself to be very impressive! It’s a grade-two ‘heritage status’ building, the former home of Princess Victoria, run by a sister and brother duo (Olivia and James) with a background in the hotel business(their parents run hotels in France). Eccleston Square Hotel manages to be perfectly placed; right in the middle of Victoria, about three minutes’ walk from Victoria station but far enough away from the noise and activity central locations are known for.
What was most impressive was how techy the hotel is, it’s perfect for those looking for a city getaway but don’t want to be away from their favourite toys. From TV’s in the elevator, iPad controlled ordering system, cinema room, 3D films in rooms, and every socket imaginable for every type of mobile device, it’s no wonder Eccleston Square Hotel is the favourite stopover for Google Out – of – towners, it’s a techie’s playground!
I also loved the rooms, they have remote controlled handmade Swedish beds that are so soft and relaxing and I imagine perfect when working in bed. I didn’t get to try the menu but I’m told the hotel has a new chef cooking up delicious dishes!
I certainly look forward to returning to Eccleston Square Hotel to try the chef and most importantly have a little getaway. I’d love to try the fantastic handmade beds. Generally, I think it’s perfect for a city break or a romantic overnight stay especially if you take management up on their offer to have a picnic in the award winning Eccleston Square garden which is directly opposite the hotel
