Galentine’s Day doesn’t need a packed guest list or a perfectly planned itinerary. The best ones rarely do.
More often than not, the most memorable evenings are the simplest – a few close friends, good conversation, music you don’t need to shout over, and drinks that feel considered without demanding too much effort. This year, Galentine’s is less about hosting something impressive and more about creating a space that feels warm, easy and genuinely joyful.
That’s where our thoughtful drinks edit comes in; not as the main event, but as part of the atmosphere.
Enter this Galentine’s gin edit, centred around two cocktails designed for lingering conversations, shared laughter and an evening that unfolds naturally. Both are built around Caorunn, whose botanically driven gins lend themselves well to relaxed, social drinking.
Before you even think about cocktails, let’s set the tone and think about pace. Galentine’s works best when nothing feels rushed. A batch-friendly drink, plenty of ice, good glassware (nothing precious) and the freedom to top up when it suits the moment, not the clock. Remember, this is about ease, not performance.
With that in mind, these two cocktails strike the right balance between playful and polished.
The Floradorable
A vibrant, fruit-forward highball with gentle warmth from fresh ginger, The Floradorable feels tailor-made for Galentine’s. Tart raspberry, bright citrus and fizz come together in a drink that’s refreshing, aromatic and easy to sip. It’s the kind of cocktail that keeps the mood light and sociable.

Ingredients
- 50ml Caorunn Scottish Raspberry Gin
- 20ml lime juice
- 20ml raspberry & ginger syrup*
- Soda water, to top
Method
- Shake all ingredients except the soda water.
- Strain into a tall glass over ice.
- Top with soda water and stir gently.
- Garnish with an edible flower and a lime twist.
* To make the raspberry & ginger syrup:
Combine equal parts raspberry jam, ginger conserve and hot water in a pan. Heat gently until dissolved, allow to cool, then strain. Store in the fridge for up to one week.
Pink Lady Spritz
Crisp, clean and lightly citrusy, the Pink Lady Spritz is a more understated option that still feels special. Built around Caorunn Classic Gin, it allows the gin’s subtle juniper spice to shine, lifted by apple and lime for a refreshing finish. The apple ‘rose’ garnish adds a touch of occasion without tipping into novelty.

Ingredients
- 50ml Caorunn Classic Gin
- 25ml Pink Lady cordial* (or cloudy apple juice)
- 20ml lime juice
- Soda water, to top
Method
- Build all ingredients in a glass over ice.
- Top with soda water and stir gently.
- Finish with a rolled red apple peel and a mint leaf garnish.
* To make Pink Lady cordial:
Chop four apples and simmer with one litre of water for 10 minutes. Strain, then combine two parts of the liquid with one part sugar and the juice of three limes. Store in the fridge for up to one week.
The beauty of a Galentine’s night in isn’t in how much you plan, but in how comfortable everyone feels once they arrive. These cocktails are designed to support that.
Make one, make both, or let friends mix their own. Put the music on early. Let the evening stretch. And remember; the best Galentine’s nights aren’t about doing the most, they’re about enjoying the moment exactly as it is.
