I recently attended the book launch party for Heels of Steel – Surviving and thriving in the Corporate World at the RBS building on Liverpool Street.
I found the evening to be more inspirational than your average book launch which fitted perfectly with the tone of the book.
Written by Vanessa Vallely, a city power broker and founder of women’s networking site, wearecity.com; Heels of Steel is so much more than an autobiography of Vanessa Vallely, it’s a step by step, how to guide on thriving in the business world.
It is a handbook for women looking to succeed in their chosen careers. There’s a wealth of invaluable information and tips; a must read if you are looking to take your career to the next level
The launch was a family affair – Vanessa and the Wearecity.com family of women were out in full force to support one of their own, their champion and to most a mentor who had helped steer them onto the path of career success.
There were heartfelt testimonies, singing, raffles with all proceeds going to charity and by the end of the evening, I couldn’t help but want to join this group of women and that’s exactly what I did at wearecity.com.
Vanessa’s story is inspiring but what I really love about her book is the career and networking advice, tips on finding a mentor and the tools she offers.
I hope to interview Vanessa very soon for more tips and advice so stay tuned. In the mean time, you can get your copy of Heels of Steel – Surviving and thriving in the corporate world at wearecity.com RRP: £14.99.
