Name aside, I love the forged stainless steel frame and hand-wrapped leather of the back not to mention its laser cut QWERTY keyboard. Not all critics see the Porsche Design P’9981 as I do; it has been described by some as a glorified Bold 9900 and they are not entirely wrong.
Internally, the P’9981 is the same as the Bold 9900, with a 1.2GHz processor, HD video recording capabilities, NFC support and 8GB of on-board storage. It also supports microSD cards up to 32GB.
The P’9981 runs on BlackBerry OS 7 but has been given a few personal touches by Porsche’s design department. It comes pre-loaded with the Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app and also has an exclusive PIN that helps its owners identify other P’9981 owners.
The BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9981 smartphone is set to hit stores later this year and will set you back $2,000.
