Farmers’ market quality, low in calories and fat? Heck italia chicken sausages and I have had a pre-destined date for a long time.
In theory, it’s everything a person dedicated to healthy eating would go for so three weeks ago, I got my hands on 3 packs to try. Each pack contains ten (10) sausages.
Areas I was looking to test? Taste, texture and of course how it helps with healthy eating.
In terms of taste, it looks like sausages but tastes like chicken, which isn’t a bad thing as it gives variety. When you are trying to eat healthily, it can sometimes feel like you are eating the same thing over and over again.
Heck’s italia chicken sausages are 3% lower in fat compared to the usual pork sausages which is always good to hear. It means it’s lighter so of course has less calories, and it’s gluten free. Choosing Heck sausages means there’s less chance of clogged arteries and all the health issues associated with eating pork sausages.
I grilled it like I do all my meats, it takes less time to cook so it’s a good idea not to leave it cooking too long. It is delicious in salads, I used it in a spaghetti bolognese sauce instead of beef, and again, it didn’t disappoint. It also tasted great with eggs for breakfast.
It’s very versatile, tastes great and it’s guilt free in terms of calories and fat. Heck italia chicken sausages gets a thumps up.
