Baselworld is always an important event in the luxury industry calendar, it is where we learn of new innovations by our favourite luxury watch and jewellery brands and this year will be no different.Here’s what to expect from two of the world’s biggest luxury watch and jewellery brands, Omega and Chanel at Baselworld 2012 Chanel presents this women’s haute joaillerie watch, the exquisite Première Flying Tourbillon.

The Première Flying Tourbillon was developed in collaboration with Swiss manufacturers, engineers and master-watchmakers Renaud & Papi as well as the advanced research and development branch of Audemars Piguet. The Première Flying Tourbillon has an 18-carat white gold bezel set with 101 baguette-cut diamonds and 127 brilliant-cut diamonds; this exquisite timepiece is limited to just 20 numbered pieces.

Omega’s offering is the stunning Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT and Constellation Co-Axial 27mm; the Seamaster Aqua Terra GMT runs on the Co-Axial calibre 8605/8615 and is also the first of OMEGA’s proprietary movements to be equipped with a GMT complication, making it possible to keep track of the time in two time zones.

The gorgeous Constellation 27mm is a ladies watch elegantly equipped with the brand’s proprietary Co-Axial calibre 8521. The bracelet boasts brushed links and polished bars set with 144 full-cut diamonds totalling 0.54 carat, and the bezel is paved with 32 full-cut diamonds with a total weight of 0.50 carat.

Baselworld 2012 is scheduled for 8th – 15th of March.
