With a price tag of $75,000, this bookcase by Chilean-born designer, Sebastian Errazuriz is the world’s most expensive bookcase. Although for $75k, it could be made to hold more books.
The bookcase is part of his latest collection entitled “Metamorphosis”; it is crafted from limited edition Baltic birch plywood shelf and is hand-carved by the Italian company Horm.
The Metamorphosis bookshelf will debut at an exhibition of the artist’s furniture work “beautiful premonitions,” which opens April 28th at the Cristina Grajales Gallery in New York.
