I was at the recent launch of Sleek makeUP’s new campaign – ‘My Face. My Rules’ which is a fight back against make-up shaming and beauty stereotypes. The campaign also gives a thumps up to diversity and a blow to bullying in one swoop. It preaches that make up is for everyone, an expression of our artistic side so everyone – male or female should be able to wear it, expert or not. It’s about self-expression and having fun so obviously I’m loving it.
And the launch was a chance to get beauty industry experts, bloggers and influencers in a room for a discussion about the thing we all love – makeup. It was a night of thought provoking conversation, supporting one another and networking.
The launch also introduced the new Sleek makeUP Life Proof Foundation, which comes in 24 shades. The new foundation is created with an oil oil-free formula so helps skin look even and shine-free, whilst imperfections are concealed by blurring the appearance of fine lines.
There’s a lot I like about the new Sleek makeUP Life Proof Foundation, starting with how diverse the range is. Of course Sleek has always catered to a wide variety of skin tones something which I think we’ve taken for granted but has been brought back into focus thanks to the recent launch of Rhianna’s Fenty Beauty.
It’s been interesting watching other brands scurry to jump on the diversity bandwagon, and it got me thinking, we’ve always had that with Sleek makeUP. It’s always been the brand that caters to makeup wearers of all skin tones so kudos for that. And of course this new Life Proof Foundation doesn’t disappoint.
Whatever skin type, tone or desired finish – it’s got you covered! It comes in a diverse range of natural-looking colours. It’s also gives an even and glowing finish when applied, thanks to its buildable coverage and hydrating formulas, you’ll never look cakey.
It comes in a squeezy tube, blends very easily, works well with both makeup sponges and brushes.
I was colour matched at the launch.
Here’s what else I picked up at the launch.
The new Sleek MakeUP Life Proof Foundation is available at Boots and Superdrug nationwide, at the affordable price of £8.99
