For the longest time, I’ve been obsessed with Hotel Chocolat’s Velvertiser because it was so sleek and made the most delicious hot chocolate with the least amount of effort. You’d need the right kind of ingredients of course but at £150, it was an indulgence many people couldn’t afford.

In the lead up to Christmas, Aldi released its own version. Smaller and less expensive and also makes delicious hot chocolate drinks in no time.
And like most Aldi’s special buys, it sold out very quickly.
It’s however back by popular demand, and as we’re still in the throes of winter and with hot chocolate being one of the warming drinks of the season, I expect these to fly off the shelves once more.
A closer look …

The Aldi Ambiano Hot Chocolate maker is a non-stick hot chocolate maker with a frother and grater. It has a 360° cordless jug with a handle, self-locking stirrer, and an automatic off switch.

Compared to the Velvertiser, it’s smaller in size giving just one cup of hot chocolate at a time but it also has a milk frother and a grater, something you don’t get with the Velvertiser.
More than a hot chocolate maker …

We’re in lockdown 3.0 so boredom has set in which means I’ve been experimenting. Trying to find out what drinks, besides hot chocolate can be made with this Ambiano Hot Chocolate Maker. Turns out a lot…
Turmeric latte

Mate Matcha

Rooibos matcha

Apple & pear matcha

Orange & passion fruit matcha

Hot chocolate drinks aren’t just for the festive season; in fact, they’re soothing all year round. And as I’ve shown, the Ambiano Hot Chocolate Maker can be used for so much more than hot chocolate drinks so let your imagination run wild and enjoy barista-worthy hot drinks all year round.
You can grab an Ambiano Hot Chocolate Maker in your local Aldi store or online.
