As we finally settle into autumn, the weather can pose a bit of a challenge when choosing skincare or fragrance.
We’ve left the humid heatwaves of the summer behind but we’ve not quite entered the dry and chilly winds of winter, leaving everything hanging in a balance.
As most things in the in-between season, it’s all about trial and recalibrating to suit your taste. Here are our favourite fragrances that are perfect for the in-between season.
They are light with sweet gourmand undertones but perfectly balanced with cosy warm and spicy notes, making them perfect for this time of year.
Medeau Origin
This debut fragrance by Medeau was introduced as a springtime floral which it very much is however its heart notes of Peony, Jasmine, Calla Lily and base notes of Vanilla, Heliotrope, Amberwood, and Cashmere Musks mean it works well this time of year as well, giving off very cosy vibes not to mention attracting a compliment or two.
Barbour For Her
This comforting floral scent can be put in the category of all-year-round fragrance. Its citrusy top notes complimented by middle notes of Jasmine and Tuberose make it a timeless scent that lasts all day while the tonka and musky base it’s built on makes it a warming companion this autumn.
It’s the perfect everyday fragrance that lasts all day.
Perfect by Marc Jacobs
This amber floral was made for this time of year. With top notes of Rhubarb and Narcissus, middle note of Almond Milk and base notes of Cashmeran and Cedar, it is aromatic and woody, yet sweet and musky at the same time. It’s calming and comforting like a hug from an old friend on a cold autumn night.
Stories No. 02 Eau De Parfum
Stories No. 02 is quite the spicy scent and the epitome of autumn. It opens with Bulgarian Rose, spiced with Ginger, Cardamom and Green Tea, supported in the middle by Tobacco and Cedar, and signs off with Patchouli, Musk, Tonka Bean, Amber and Opoponax. It’s spicy and comforting, exactly what’s needed in autumn.
Trussardi Donna
This gorgeous fragrance starts off sweet with fruity notes such as Yuzu and Lemon, warms up in the middle thanks to the Jasmine, African Orange flower and Lotus and envelopes at the end with comforting woody notes of Vanille, Sandalwood, Patchouli and Virginia Cedar.

La Librairie Neroli Divine

Chloé Rose Naturelle Intense
Launched earlier this month, Chloé Rose Naturelle Intense is an extension of the Chloé Rose collection but with a twist. Yes, it’s floral but has a bit more depth thanks to the top notes of Bergamot and Neroli, middle notes of Rose and Oak Tree and base notes of Sandalwood and Cedar.
Its sweet and fresh opening is in line with those that have come before it however its slightly smoky and vanilla-tinged oak wood and creamy sandalwood base makes it distinctive.
