Erborian SKIN HERO – Bare Skin Perfector - new Erborian SKIN HERO - Bare Skin Perfector review

This new Skin Hero – Bare Skin Perfector is my first encounter with Erborian skincare and it’s one I’ve been looking forward to for some time. Being a big fan of Korean skincare and also having heard great things about Erborian, I was excited to give this a try.

As a new addition to Erborian’s hero skincare aimed at promoting natural beauty and making us all comfortable in our own skins with less coverage; this new Skin Hero – Bare Skin Perfector is a non-tinted bare skin perfector that smoothes and refines the skin’s texture in 7 days. - new Erborian SKIN HERO - Bare Skin Perfector review

My initial thought even before I tried it was that it had great ingredients. Granted, I love any skincare product that contains hyaluronic acid and this Skin Hero has it in spades; as well as White Ginseng which has moisturising, antioxidant, smoothing, and hydrating properties.

I thought SKIN HERO would be a great addition to my skincare routine because I’ve been bare-faced throughout this pandemic and it promised to enhance bare skin while blurring away imperfections. I was keen to see the effect on my skin after 7 days.

Back to the ingredients, Skin Hero contains a complex made up of several extracts including Ginseng root extract (Panax ginseng), Liquorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Wild Yam (Dioscorea villosa) root extract, Kigelia fruit extract (Kigelia africana), and Horsetail extract (Equisetum Giganteum). To provide all the hydration that the skin needs, it uses two complimentary ingredients working alongside the Ginseng – Glycerin, known for its moisturising properties, that protects the skin from dehydration, and Hyaluronic acid, which maintains the skin’s natural moisture. - new Erborian SKIN HERO - Bare Skin Perfector review

After weeks of trial, I can report that I like the hydrating qualities of the product. I never applied it to my skin without first having a hydrating serum and moisturiser on but having to add a product that is even more hydrating isn’t a bad thing.

I also found it to have a mattifying quality, kind of what you get with a really good primer. It made my skin very smooth and oil-free. Although it does take some work to get it absorbed into skin, and can be a bit chalky and may leave white streaks on darker skin tones if not rubbed in properly. - new Erborian SKIN HERO - Bare Skin Perfector review

Overall, it does improve the look and feel of skin when applied – pores look diminished, it brightens the face and stays on all day. There were no sudden appearances of oiliness around the t-zone and even sweating through workout sessions after a long day didn’t dim the skin’s brightness.

I’ve always been a fan of minimal makeup and letting my skin breathe, especially when I’m hanging around the house so this new Skin Hero is right up my alley.  It’s non-tinted and silicone-free, it doesn’t clog pores and just lets the skin be while making it radiant. - new Erborian SKIN HERO - Bare Skin Perfector review

It’s been over a month since I started using Skin Hero – Bare Skin Perfector and it’s become a staple in my AM skincare routine; the final step after I apply SPF moisturiser. And I can see myself using it after lockdown, simply adding a touch of lipstick and being on my merry way to work or wherever. It illuminates and makes skin radiant, not to mention cuts down the time spent piling on makeup, what’s not to love?

The Erborian SKIN HERO was launched in February and is available now on the Erborian website and
