The first ever Global Kids’ Fashion Week (GKFW) took place last Tuesday in London to celebrate the thriving industry of children’s wear.
From Chloe’s ‘mini me’ girls collection launched in 2007 to Stella McCartney for Kids launched in 2010, each year a number of designers branch into kids wear so it was just a matter of time before an event showcasing children’s fashion in its own right became a reality.
Thirty established and emerging designers, including Kenzo, Roberto Cavalli, Oscar de La Renta, Billie Bush, Mini A Ture and Issosy took part in the event created by AlexandAlexa.com.
Alex Theophanous, founder of AlexandAlexa.com told WWD, the company hopes to make the Global Kids’ Fashion Week an annual or even seasonal event.
