I have a confession, my phobia of needles extends to doctors and dentists in particular. As a result, I haven’t been to see a dentist in years – in fact, I don’t have one.
I figured it was time I manned up so as part of my spring health check , I teamed up with tooth paste brand Arm and Hammer who have just launched new Total Pro Clean + Repair toothpaste for a dental appointment at the Dentist Gallery.
On the day of the appointment, I had two major concerns, not just my fear of doctors but also what he might discover. Will my teeth be so damaged that I’d need extensive work?
It turned out not to be so bad. I initially went into a bit of a panic and had to explain needles of any kind were a no – no, of course having an understanding dentist who put me at ease helped a lot.
It turned out to be fine, I apparently have really good teeth and mouth health in general, you know, for someone who hadn’t been to a dentist her entire adult life. My secret? I don’t have a sweet tooth 🙂
Anyway, needles weren’t needed hurrah! Just a bit of tartar to remove, as well as stains from too much red wine which he did with baking soda and to lower the acidity in the mouth and balance the PH . Because a balanced PH in the mouth is important as it prevents stains on teeth and decay or plaque of any kind. All in all, it was a pleasant visit, something I never thought I’d say about a dentist appointment 🙂
I also got this cool new tooth brush with thinning bristles at the top, which gets in between teeth and get the foods in there out. So instead of using normal brushes that just brush across the teeth, this goes in the little spaces between the teeth, shake a little and everything stuck in there comes loose.
Sleek brush head cover
This covers the brush head when not in use to prevent germs and dust. It’s also beautiful to look at and has adhesive pikes at the bottom that easily sticks to your mirror or any surface in the bathroom.
And of course I got my hands on the new Arm and Hammer Total Pro Clean + Repair toothpaste with baking soda and active calcium to try. Baking soda has so many benefits in a toothpaste including reaching parts of the teeth, gum line and the gaps between the teeth that normal brushing can’t reach. While the patented Active Calcium technology strengthens enamel.
It also neutralises the acids from food and plaque, and it also acts as a whitener to remove stains and it neutralise odour in the mouth.
All in all, a very satisfactory visit and experience. And who knows, I might even book another one in 6 months which is how long you’re supposed to go without a dental appointment.
The Dental Gallery is at 20 Rochester Row, Westminster, London SW1P. And the new Arm and Hammer Total Pro Clean + Repair toothpaste with baking soda and active calcium is in stores now.
