Fresh and subtle yet lingering; Osmanthus the new fragrance by L’OCCITANE is the quintessential spring fragrance.
Inspired by the Osmanthus flower which blooms in the autumn and releases its scent at a time when most other flowers have already faded; the Osmanthus flower has a rich history in China.
It’s a symbol of good luck and has been used in Chinese cuisine for many years – seasoning tea, cakes, syrups, and rice wine.
The Osmanthus used in this fragrance is sourced in Guilin, a city in southern China, the word ‘Guilin’ means ‘Osmanthus’ (Gui) ‘forest’ (Lin). Referring to the large number of Yellow Osmanthus trees located in and around the city, it depicts a natural landscape, reputed in China to be the ‘finest under heaven’.

The process
The Absolute of Osmanthus Flower Orpur® from China is harvested by hand, and kept in a brine bath for three months, during which a fermentation process takes place, enriching the olfactory profile of the osmanthus. It’s then blended with Mahonial, this floral note remains light, while the Carrot Seed Oil Orpur® rounds the scent out with warm and earthy undertones.
Fragrance has the ability to elevate moods and transport us to a better place and this does just that. Taking me to a place full of sunshine and filled with fruity scents even if I’m still in lockdown.
