It’s always exciting when a new anti ageing skincare range is unveiled but I think it’s even more exciting when an already popular range is improved upon and made even more effective.
I’ve been seeing a lot of that around lately. Estee Lauder for example recently introduced their new reformulated version of the already popular Advanced Night Repair Serum, now called Estee Lauder advanced night repair synchronised multi-recovery complex.
And now, L’Occitane is relaunching their multi-award winning anti ageing Immortelle Divine Collection, having discovered two new ingredients in the Corsican immortelle flower that stimulate collagen, densify the dermis and protect from blue light.
After 20 years of cutting edge research, L’Occitane has discovered the Immortelle Super Extract which has the same skin volume benefits as synthetic retinol although it’s much gentler on skin and is 100% natural. And the Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract which works together with Immortelle Essential Oil to effectively protect skin against the effects of blue light.
A closer look
Already an award-winning anti ageing skincare collection, L’Occitane has expanded the Immortelle Divine Collection over the years and with this new reformulation, I put three of the reformulated products in the collection to the test.
Starting with the Immortelle Divine Eye Balm which is of course a richer version of the anti ageing eye cream that came before it. In this new reformulated version, it’s still thick and rich although also easily absorbed into skin, and very hydrating.
Due to the thickness, it is ideal for night time use although I think it works for day time too, as it’s quickly absorbed, leaving no residue just soft, silky skin in its wake.
Already a powerful anti-aging eye balm, the two new ingredients in the newly formulated eye balm increases the skin’s firmness around the eyes keeping puffiness and wrinkle lines at bay while helping maintain the skin’s structure and shielding it against the damaging effects of blue light.
Immortelle Divine Cream
Forgive the pun but this is a truly divine anti-ageing moisturiser that fights against wrinkles, makes skin radiant, improves skin’s elasticity, volume and firmness.
Internally, it boots collagen production making skin thicker and plumper, as well as supports skin’s architecture making it toned and firm; while externally as an antioxidant, it protects skin from external aggressions such as pollution and effects of blue light.
Daily use of this cream will make wrinkles appear visibly reduced, and help skin regain its firmness and elasticity. It also improves skin’s texture, making it smoother, while brightening the complexion and evening out the tone.
Immortelle Divine Youth Oil
This is my absolute favourite out of the three products I tried because of how it almost immediately softens skin’s texture when applied. Skin gets a pampered feel – it feels nourished, smooth and silky without having an oily residue which I love.
It’s also packed with 2x more anti-oxidant than Vitamin E and helps fight against visible signs of ageing. Used daily, skin appears nourished and firmer. Wrinkles seems reduced and complexion looks brighter and more even toned.
The new L’Occitane reformulated Immortelle Divine Collection is an improvement on an already great and effective skincare range. Through constant research, L’Occitane is making sure their products meet the current skincare needs of its users.
Case in point the new formulation’s ability to shield skin against the effects of blue light which is a fairly new problem brought on by our use of technology.
I like the texture of all the products in the collection, especially how it’s easily absorbed into skin without leaving any residue. You don’t have to worry about clogged pores.
I also like how it transforms the skin’s texture when applied. It melts into skin and instantly turns it soft and silky to touch which speaks to the hydrating and nourishing powers of the Corsican immortelle flower and ingredients used.
Finally, it’s gentle on skin. For instance, you get all the skin plumping and firming benefits of retinol with none of the irritation. Sometimes, it’s even cooling when the body’s temperature is high – very soothing.
Another great feature is that the collection is light on fragrance, which is soothing to the senses. There’s nothing more annoying than strongly scented products that trigger an allergic reaction.
The reformulated Immortelle Divine Collection launches this September on the L’Occitane website.
