The guys at L’OCCITANE have been tinkering again, and let’s face it, isn’t it one of the reasons we love the brand? This time, they’ve decided to fuse ingredients from two of their iconic ranges – shea butter and immortelle, to bring us another incredible product – Youth Hand Cream.
The new Youth Hand Cream’s serum-in-cream formula is a perfectly blended cocktail of the nourishing benefits of shea butter, with the age-defying technology of the immortelle flower.
Under the hood
And now to my favourite part, finding out about the ingredients and what goes into a product.
So, the new Youth Hand Cream contains 5% organic shea butter sourced from 100% Fair Trade partnerships in Burkina Faso. Shea butter is famous for its nourishing and moisturising properties – it intensely nourishes, hydrates and moisturises hands, whilst strengthening the nails.
It also contains Immortelle Extract and Immortelle Essential Oil; potent antioxidants shown to be more effective than Vitamin E in protecting the skin from external aggressors, whilst high in omegas 9 & 6. The presence of immortelle extract and immortelle essential oil in the Youth Hand Cream will help to reduce the appearance of the visible signs of ageing on hands. Lines will appear reduced, whilst increasing the skin’s elasticity.
There’s also Hibiscus AHA. As we age, cellular renewal slows down, making it harder to alter the appearance of the skin once damage has been done. Hibiscus AHA is included in Youth Hand Cream’s formula to encourage skin renewal; it’s an ingredient known for its ability to help eliminate hyperpigmentation and dead skin cells. It helps with editing skin tone irregularities after frequent exposure to UV rays.
Hexylresorcinol & Rapseedphytosterols: When the skin on our hands is exposed to aggressors such as UV, harsh weather conditions and pollution every day, the skin and microbiota barriers are altered and hyper-pigmentation can appear, prematurely ageing the appearance of our hands. Hexylresorcinol is an anti-microbial ingredient that helps to reduce the appearance of sun damage and improve skin tone through gentle exfoliation, whilst inhibiting the overgrowth of microorganisms after excessive exposure to UV rays.
Finally, Rapseedphytosterols improve skin barrier function to encourage a balanced ecosystem on our skin.
Lightly fragranced, it’s soft and creamy. It’s very easily absorbed by skin, leaving it soft and silky.
A little tip for you; apply a little to the hard skin on your elbows and knees and watch the transformation.
I tried this new Youth Hand Cream for about six weeks, I’d recommend it. L’OCCITANE did good with this one. I wouldn’t mind a body cream version of this hand cream, it’s just too yummy.
The new Youth Hand Cream also boasts 97% natural origin ingredients and is housed in a 95% recycled aluminium tube, as is the L’OCCITANE way – waste less while nourishing the skin.
