Mindful Beauty: Products to clear your mind and heal your body

Let’s face it, modern lifestyle comes with a lot of stress. Whether it’s work, family or following your dreams, it all tends to take a toll, and begin to manifest both mentally and physically. Even the environment we live in – hello pollution, doesn’t do our skin any favours.
Most of us can’t sleep well, we’re tired all the time, we’ve got achy joints and sore muscles, and racing minds. 
When you take all these into account, then it’s no surprise that Mindful Beauty is on the rise.

So what is Mindful Beauty? It’s the beauty products that help us unwind mentally but also heal the body by getting rid of the aches and pains, the fatigue and stresses our skin go through. 
Some people do yoga to achieve a sense of calm, personally I turned to weekly massages which costs a fortune by the way until I discovered these amazing products.

Ren Skincare Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium Collection

I’m a huge fan of this range and have been using the body cream, body scrub and bath oil for the past few weeks. I turned to Ren after discovering the importance of magnesium in countering body aches and pains, as well as fatigue. In general, magnesium supports the natural functions of the body which includes boosting cell energy levels, combating fatigue and it has anti-inflammatory properties too.

Incidentally, magnesium is also one of the few minerals the body needs that is better absorbed through the skin than ingesting which is why I believe Ren Skincare hit the nail on the head with this Atlantic Kelp and Magnesium range. It’s a very timely product.

The range also hydrates the skin throughout the day thanks to the Kelp which is harvested from the Atlantic, and is a rich source of both magnesium and calcium. When applied, it hydrates the skin by covering it in a protective barrier to lock in moisture all day long. And finally Algae, supports natural sleep rhythm.

Westlab Pure Mineral Bathing Epsom Salt

Another great magnesium product I’m loving is this bathing salt. I’m a big fan of relaxing baths, in fact, I don’t think I take enough baths. This Westlab Pure Mineral Bathing Epsom Salt, is made with pure magnesium sulphate making it awesome for relaxing tired aching muscles.

It’s perfect for those who sit behind desks all day, have back pain and those who exercise regularly; it’s great for recovery and muscle relaxation. I like nothing more than to pour an entire bag into a tub filled with warm water and lie in for 20 to 60 minutes to detoxify and relax my muscles.

Miaroma Relaxing Lavender & Coconut Oil Hydrating Spritz

Feel stressed most days? Then this is for you! This hydrating spritz is all natural, and is made with lavender and coconut oil which relaxes the body and calms the mind.
The formula contains liquid coconut oil, to quench dehydrated skin, and lavender that calms racing minds. It can be applied on both face and body.

Kneipp Massage Oil Arnica Joint & Muscle

Another great product for achy muscles and joints is this Kneipp® Arnica Massage Oil.
I just love the ingredients in Kneipp massage oil, it has arnica and ginger extracts, shea butter as well as nourishing sunflower oil and moisturising almond oil. Arnica extracts help relieve pain and inflammation from joints and muscles, it’s been used for centuries for pain relief, swelling and bruising and to help the body recover faster from sore muscles and joints.
Simply massage into the skin with each massage pulse. It also abosorbs very easily into skin so there’s no oily residue.

Elemis Aching Muscle Super Soak

There is nothing like a soak after a long day and this beauty by Elemis does the job. It’s a natural foaming bath soak with an energising and uplifting aroma which warms overworked, tired, aching muscles and recharges the entire body.
Think of it as your deep tissue massage, it uses Birch, Juniper, Clove, Alpine Lavender, Wild Thyme and Blue Chamomile, combined with Sea Salt to warm the muscles and energise the body.

Antioxidant Boost Facial Oil

Antioxidant products are on the rise and for a good reason. The connection between pollution and skin issues like clogged pores, breakouts and ageing is undeniable and this why antioxidant products are so important.

Another favourite of mine is this bioactive 100% organic Lavender Oil produced under steam distillation. When used in an enclosed space like the bedroom or bathroom, it fights pollution in the air. It also has harmonising, nourishing and restoring properties.

Clarins Booster Detox

Ever since my trip to the Clarins Skin Spa, I’ve been using more and more products by Clarins and I love this one.
This Detox Booster is a high-concentrate formula designed to target damaged skin caused by the effects of cigarette smoke, too many late nights or even from the effects of pollution.

I just add a couple of drops into my face cream, mask or foundation when I feel my skin needs a boosts. It reverses tired skin and dull complesion gradually to reveal a revived radiance and detoxified plumped skin.

Clarins Energizing Emulsion

Another of my favourites from Clarins is this energising emulsion which is an absolute treat for tired feet and soles. Made with Camomile, Basil, Sage and Cypress, it relaxes, tones and revs-up tired legs. It’s perfect for people who stand on their feet all day, I rely on it when I have to walk around central London all day and come home with achy feet.

I can also apply it throughout the day – even over stockings which makes it perfect to carry around in my handbag. Besides, it’s lightweight and absorbs very easily so no stains to worry about.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Shield

I picked up this new addition to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range recently a ndI really like what it does. It contains a Hylauronic Gel Matrix, which instantly locks in intense hydration and releases it throughout the day to give skin a  hydrated and supple feel. 

Hydro Boost City Shield does what it says on the box, by battling clogged pores and breakouts. The formula is packed with hyaluronic acid for intensive hydration and antioxidant Vitamin C to combat the ageing effects of pollution, as well as signs of aging.

It’s lightweight, quenches thirsty skin and has a matte finish, making it a great canvas for makeup. It’s also has a SPF of 25 to protect against sun-damage.
