Dull complexion, ashiness and skin discolouration are all common skin conditions that we deal with. Such conditions are caused by many factors, for instance, due to ageing, cell turnover can be slow, making complexion look dull, also, dead skin cells can accumulate on the surface of the face creating a barrier that blocks the skin-brightening effects of blood vessels, causing complexion to look dull. And excessive oil production can also disrupt the skin’s natural shedding process.
These are internal factors but there are also external factors like pollution which is one of the main sources of skin damage as toxic free-radicals in the air can cause skin to age prematurely, particularly on the face. In fact, exposure to daily pollution can actually cause reactions in the skin that inhibit the way it builds and repairs itself.
Smoking is another culprit, it restricts blood flow and reduces the amount of oxygen and nutrients that reach the skin, resulting in an ashy complexion or an unhealthy greyish skin tone, as well as wrinkles, sallowness and general ageing of skin.
True, things like a proper diet and drinking water while staying away from alcohol and dehydrating foods rich in fats, preservatives and salt can improve blood circulation and help skin get natural anti-oxidants such as vitamin C, which help protect and repair skin damage.
And so will regular exfoliation which helps get rid of dead skin cells on the face. The skin normally sheds dead skin on its own but excessive oil production can disrupt it. As a result, dead skin cells can accumulate on the surface of the face, creating a barrier that blocks the skin-brightening effects of blood vessels, causing complexion to look dull. This is why exfoliating at least once a week is so important.
These complexion and skin discolouration problems are what Greek skincare giant Korres, is trying to solve with its Korres Wild Rose Collection. Wild Rose has quite a reputation in the beauty industry for being a super ingredient. It’s known to contain many vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
Wild Rose is a natural mild antiseptic that can treat acne and skin irritation, it’s also nourishing and hydrating for the skin and face, and also stimulates circulation in the tiny blood vessels to regenerate skin.
Also, wild roses have antioxidant properties which are helpful in protecting the skin from the effects of ageing. It fights free radicals, and is also a natural source of vitamin C, which significantly repairs fine lines and skin colour disorders, while adding brightness and radiance to the skin.
Based on its many benefits, it’s no surprise that the KORRES’ Wild Rose Skincare Collection is so popular. It’s been around for 21 years, and they keep adding to the range.
The latest additions are:
Wild Rose Advanced Brightening & Nourishing Face Oil
I love face oils so I’ve taken to this oil like a duck to water. It’s light and absorbs quickly without leaving a residue which is such a great quality in any skincare product. Despite all the amazing qualities of the main ingredient -Wild Rose, this oil is further infused with real rose petals, and boosted with Super C to increase the skin’s absorption of vitamin C by 1000% making this a very powerful brightening oil.
The new Wild Rose Oil acts on 3 levels -Brightening/Nourishing/Antioxidant. The oil is also combined with natural actives like nutritious Apricot and Sunflower oils, moisturising-booster provitamin B5 and the antioxidant Physalis Angulata extract to give additional hydration, deep nourishing and skin protection.
If dull complexion and skin discolouration is a problem for you, I’ll suggest replacing your moisturiser with this – apply after your serum and before you apply a primer. You’ll see its brightening effect in 4 weeks and its hydrating effect almost immediately.
Keeping in mind that Wild Rose oil is particularly high in Vitamin C content ( nine times higher than that of an orange), this oil also delivers significant repairing action on fine lines and pigmentation disorders while improving the overall texture of skin.
Another new addition is this Brightening & First Wrinkles Advanced Repair Sleeping Facial
This is a velvety night cream that melts instantly into skin for intense hydration, brightening and fighting off first wrinkles while you sleep
Again, it’s powered by Wild Rose oil, and is combined with pure Super Vitamin C, turmeric extract and natural balms for softer, smoother, and more radiant skin come morning.
After 8 hours of use, you’ll wake up with improved skin texture and hydrated skin. Overtime, your skin will look bright and radiant, not to mention its elasticity will improve and fine and expression lines will be reduced.
I’ve been using this duo to combat hydration and dull complexion issues for over 8 weeks and I’ll recommend it. Using the oil during the day and the Advanced Repair Sleeping Facial at night will ensure dull complexion and skin discolouration problems are tackled round the clock.
I’m also a huge fan of multi-purpose skincare so I’m very happy report that this tackles even more skin issues, like dehydration, mal-nourishment and signs of ageing, all the while brightening skin. You can check out the entire Korres Wild Rose Collection and buy the two new additions here.
