New Beauty Find: Alchemy Hair Oils

It’s no secret I’m super into oils right now, both skin and hair. And as some of you will know, managing coily, kinky hair can be difficult especially if you don’t have the right products.

I’m currently transitioning so I’m finding it difficult to manage new growth and generally feeling uninspired as to what to do with my hair. A big part  of managing new growth has been down to hair oils, they have been a big help.

I have been using the textured hair care collection by Cantu which I love but on days I don’t feel like blow drying my hair, I use oils to help manage it and this Alma Hair Remedy blend from Alchemy Hair Oils has been a god send.

It is a potent blend of Amla, Coconut, Avocado, and Argan oils topped off with a splash of Lemon Essential Oil to promote growth and strengthen hair and also to naturally cleanse.

It can be used on both dry and damp hair and I have tried both. Because my hair is coarse and thick, I use it on top of my Cantu leave in conditioner and then blow dry my hair. And on days I don’t feel like applying heat, I just apply from root to tips – it makes combing and styling generally easier.

While other hair oils may not prevent the tearing and excessive shedding that comes with styling dry hair, this actually reduces it.

Also, I love the fact that all oils from Alchemy Hair Oils are all natural and free from parabens, PEGS, phthalates, sulphates, silicones, mineral oil, glycols, DEA or TEA. As someone who stays away from products with such nasties, it’s the first thing I look at before I buy both body and hair products so it’s a relief to know that all Alchemy Hair Oils are made with natural ingredients only.

This is my first encounter with Alchemy Hair Oils and I’m in love. It’s for all hair types and  the oils are created by combining Ayurvedic practice of hair oiling from India with Western hair styling sensibilities.

Each blend has specific qualities such as stimulate hair growth, treat hair loss and promote longer, strengthen hair as well as soften it.

Other blends in the range include Grapefruit Hair Remedy, Peppermint Hair Remedy, and many more. Check out the entire collection here.
