Review: Erborian Super BB Concealer Serum

The Erborian Super BB Concealer Serum is one of two products launched by Erborian last year. It dropped in the first week of March to a lot of excitement, as it promised to be an improvement on an already popular Supper BB.

This medium to full coverage concealer comes with added skincare benefits, which is no surprise coming from Erborian. Their whole philosophy is centred on improving skin so that makeup becomes optional rather than essential.

Also unsurprising is the fact that the Super BB Concealer Serum comes in just five shades: Clair, Nude, Dore, Caramel and Chocolat.

The product promises to conceal the usual problem areas – dark circles, blemishes, hyperpigmentation, while also delivering skincare results thanks to its serum-strength concentration of Niacinamide. Essentially, it treats the skin while concealing it.

What’s Inside?

Let’s take a closer look at the ingredients. The hero ingredient is Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), a known skincare powerhouse that boosts hydration, reduces pore visibility, fades dark spots, and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles.

There’s also 2% White Ginseng, a brand favourite that hydrates and improves skin texture, along with Fermented Ginseng Flower Extract to illuminate and unify the complexion. Another key ingredient is Escin, which stimulates microcirculation and helps reduce the appearance of dark circles.

Bonus points for SPF25 too, offering some protection against sun damage.

According to Erborian, customer trials reported high satisfaction levels, with 96% to 99% of users agreeing it performed well. Naturally, we wanted to see if it lived up to the hype.

Trial Period: 13 Weeks

Tested For: Coverage, ability to conceal problem areas and improve skin appearance over time. Given the high concentration of skincare actives, we were expecting visible results.

It’s worth noting that the product comes in a 10ml tube, which likely won’t last more than 4 weeks with daily use. In my case, it lasted 13 weeks because I rarely wear makeup. 

On the plus side, my skincare routine is consistent, and my skin is generally in good condition.

Back to the Super BB Concealer Serum, it  has a liquid texture but feels creamy on application. The addition of an applicator wand was a welcome change from previous Erborian products that use pumps (which can get messy fast). The wand allows for precise application, less waste, and longer product use.

Application & Coverage

Coverage-wise, I have no complaints. Depending on how much you apply, it does an excellent job of covering dark circles (I get them a lot from lack of sleep). It stays in place, doesn’t crease, and doesn’t look cakey, even after powder is applied on top.

It also covered the occasional blemish and areas of hyperpigmentation around my lips and chin.

While Erborian’s five shades still don’t offer an exact match for my skin tone, that wasn’t a problem here since I used the concealer to highlight (Caramel) and contour (Chocolat).

Overall Impressions

What really had me intrigued was the skincare benefit. With such a high concentration of active ingredients, I expected great things – and I wasn’t disappointed.

Even on the two occasions I fell asleep wearing makeup (oops!), my skin still looked and felt good the next morning. Normally, sleeping in makeup results in dullness, enlarged pores, and the need for exfoliation. But with this product, I didn’t need a panic skincare routine the next day. My skin was hydrated, calm, and smooth.

Over the 13-week trial, I noticed an improvement in texture and clarity. The hyperpigmentation around my cheeks and lips appeared more refined, almost as if I’d had a light peel.

Final Verdict

The Erborian Super BB Concealer Serum delivers on both fronts: effective coverage and real skincare benefits. It conceals beautifully and improves skin texture and tone over time.
