Did you know Hotel Chocolat had a beauty range called RABOT 1745 BEAUTY? I didn’t until recently. It turns out RABOT 1745 BEAUTY has been around for a while as the main skincare brand used in Hotel Chocolat resorts around the world. And finally, it’s available to buy here in the UK.
Let’s just say, if you love the rich indulgence of Hotel Chocolat chocolates, you’ll love their skin products too.
The range is inspired by the Rabot Estate cocoa plantation owned by Hotel Chocolat in St. Lucia, so RABOT 1745 BEAUTY is all about marrying cacao with other nourishing ingredients to produce a skincare range that is soothing and nourishing, not to mention smells amazing.
The RABOT 1745 BEAUTY range is quite extensive, it includes cleansers, face and body masks, exfoliators, body mists, body creams, and the list goes on and on.
It has everything needed to create an effective skincare routine for different skin needs. I have created an indulgent Sunday pampering skincare routine with some of my favourite RABOT 1745 BEAUTY products, which has me wishing everyday was a Sunday.
Also, as we enter autumn and skin dehydration starts to become an issue; thick, nourishing and hydrating creams like the ones in this range will be really handy.
8 Step Pampering skincare routine with RABOT 1745 BEAUTY
Coffee Body Scrub
I always start my pampering skincare routine with exfoliation and as someone who doesn’t drink coffee but loves the smell, this really is the scrub for me. There are other body exfoliators like Sugar & Sour Orange Body Scrub, Salt & Lemongrass Body Scrub, and Cacao, Almond & Coconut Three Shell Scrub, but the Coffee Scrub is my favourite. It’s made with fine-ground Rabot 1745 arabica coffee beans, which is rich in antioxidants to tighten and exfoliate. It also contains skin-soothing cocoa butter and almond oil to hydrate skin.
I find the Coffee Scrub to be creamy, and it smells heavenly. It is abrasive enough to ensure all dead skin cells are scrubbed away but also gentle on skin. Another reason I love RABOT 1745 BEAUTY body scrubs is that it doesn’t make a mess. Ever used a scrub where bits of it fly everywhere so you have to clean your bathroom after? Well not with these scrubs, I think that has something to do with the creamy texture.
Liquid Chocolate Body Mask
I follow exfoliating with this body mask to detoxify, purify and soothe. Because all dead skin cells have been scrubbed away, my skin can really absorb the hydrating powers of the cocoa, sweet almond oil, coconut oil and apricot oil in this body mask. I found this Liquid Chocolate Body Mask to be very indulgent on skin, it also has a tightening and tingling sensation. But in general, It’s very gentle. Here’s a tip for you, don’t apply on your face. I tried it, and even though my face didn’t burn off, it did feel weird. And once it dries on skin, it doesn’t just wash off, you’ll have to use a cleansing cloth to wash it off which can be a little hard on the skin on your face.
It’s very indulgent and definitely fulfilled every fantasy I’ve ever had about chocolate.
Cacao & Almond Bath and Body Oil
My next step is to relax in a warm bath filled with tiny drops this soothing bath and body oil. The aromas alone have me unwinding in minutes and it’s nourishing to skin too, especially if you have dry skin.
Saint Lucia Body Mist
After a relaxing bath, I use a body mist which comes in 4 scents – London, Tokyo, St. Lucia and New York; each representing a Hotel Chocolat resort. I’d go with Saint Lucia any day, it is zesty and fresh with hints of lemongrass and pink grapefruit which instantly transports me to the tropics when spritzed.
Cacao & Almond Body Butter
I then top it all off with what I consider to be hydration overload in this Cacao & Almond Body Butter. Cacao and almond taste great in chocolate and feels great on skin, not to mention smells great. Considering how moisturising it is, this body butter is light and absorbs very easily into skin, leaving it soft and supple. The ingredients also contain antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, which is always good in any skincare product.
Avocado & Lime Smile Reviver
I finish off my pampering session by making sure my lips get pampered too, first by exfoliating with this zesty lips exfoliator which is contains avocado oil, rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, D and E, to help protect and hydrate lips.
Followed by a Coconut Lip Balm which has ingredients such as coconut oil and chocolate, paired with shea butter and rosemary leaf extract to further nourish and keep lips soft and supple.
It’s difficult to do anything other than relax after such an indulgent pampering session and that relaxed feeling always carry on into at least the first two days of the working week.
I’m definitely a fan of the RABOT 1745 BEAUTY skincare range now; it uses skin nourishing ingredients, smells amazing, and has beautiful packaging which can be reused by the way.
For example, the body scrubs come in a reusable bamboo cup which can serve as your travel beverage mug and also save you 50p on your hot drink at any Hotel Chocolat café.
You can check out the entire RABOT 1745 BEAUTY on their website or visit their recently opened store at Westfield, London.
