The just ended London Beauty Week impressed on me how big a role London plays in the huge UK beauty industry. At least two beauty brands launch every week in London. Case in point is this new range by Skin Academy called Zero. As the name implies, it’s zero in fragrances, preservatives, parabens and SLES or SLS.
According to Skin Academy, Zero is the UK’s most eco-friendly beauty range. I don’t have the stats so I’m not sure if that claim is absolutely true but Skin Academy Zero is definitely up there as one of the most eco-friendly brands out there. It’s 100% natural, vegan – friendly, 100% recyclable and recycled packaging.
The range has six products including; a night cream, a day cream, an eye cream, a facial scrub, a facial wash, and a hand cream, all of which are made from 100% natural ingredients.
The main ingredients in the Skin Academy Zero include sweet almond oil, coconut oil, shea butter, sacha inchi seed oil and green tea extract. I don’t know much about sacha inchi seed oil but I know the others are super hydrating and nourishing to skin. And the fact that it’s all natural means it’s suitable for all skin types.
In general, I like the concept of Zero and what it stands for, we should all be doing our bit to help save the planet and buying environmentally friendly brands that use sustainable practices is one of the ways. I also love the ingredients as it’s super nourishing to skin. Again, I like the general look and feel of the products too, it has an understated luxury feel even with its recycled packaging and I found the fact that it is fragrance free to be very soothing to my senses and skin.
