I spent this past Halloween differently than I normally would, instead of loud noise, a rowdy crowd and people passed out drunk, I had an enjoyable grown up evening with friends checking out the Tanqueray Gothic Gin Garden Pop Up at the Playboy Club London.
Trendy or not, gin’s always been my go-to guilt free drink, so sipping gin cocktails surrounded by gothic décor of ethereal ferns, roses and greenery put me in the Halloween mood.
It was such a fun night, we were ushered into the venue and served drinks all night by iconic Playboy Bunnies, we got to mix our own Tanqueray Gin infusions with the help of an expert and then spent the rest of the evening sipping signature gin cocktails with accompanying canapés.
The venue has a decadent yet chilled out vibe that’s very relaxing. It has comfortable and colourful sofas, and of course massive bar decked out in flowers and herbs, and a separate station with bottles of Tanqueray Gin, Tonic water, pots of herbs and jars of fruit – basically everything you need to make the perfect gin fused cocktail.
My infusion consisted of Tanqueray Gin, black berries, raspberries, mint and a slice of grapefruit topped up with grapefruit tonic water. Adventurous combination, I know but it turned out to be quite delicious. It was smooth and the ingredients enhanced the flavour of the Tanqueray Gin rather than mask it so it turned out beautifully.
After putting our mixology skills to the test, we moved on to enjoying the cocktails menu and the accompanying canapés. As someone who doesn’t have a sweet tooth, I appreciated the balance of the menu, there is enough on there for those who don’t enjoy sweet cocktails.
I tried Corpse Reviver Number Blue and Day of the Dead but my favourite of the night was the Smoked Negroni with a Sticky toffee bunny canapé.
All in all, it was a fun, relaxing night filled with delicious cocktails, laughter and conversations because we could hear ourselves and didn’t have to shout over loud music.
I’d recommend a visit to the Tanqueray Gothic Gin Garden Pop Up for a chilled evening with friends or pre night out cocktails.
The good news is, the Tanqueray Gothic Gin Garden Pop Up wasn’t just for Halloween, it opened on October 27th and is ongoing until Saturday 24 November. Don’t miss out.
