I was very excited when I spotted this new Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil at Superdrug; one whiff and I was hooked. And it also has all the right ingredients you’d want in a body oil.

Made with pure cocoa butter and replenishing oils, this Body Gel Oil promises hydrated, healthy-looking, and glowing skin. Cocoa butter is naturally hydrating thanks to the high amounts of fatty acids it contains. The fat in it creates a protective barrier that holds in moisture and prevents skin from drying. The other replenishing oils also help skin glow when applied.
Texture wise, Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil is quite thick which is to be expected because it’s a gel oil. Not something you’d see often with a body oil; in fact, I’ll go as far as to say this may be a first in body oil texture history.
It also has a warm, cocoa butter fragrance which is just mouth-watering. It’s like you’re applying thick rich chocolate to your skin and it’s strong enough to linger so there’s really no need to cover it up with any other fragrance. You can simply walk around smelling like a decadent piece of chocolate.
This Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil however commits the one cardinal sin a body oil can commit in my eyes – it’s greasy as hell and leaves residue everywhere.
According to Vaseline, it locks in moisture to help revitalise dry and dull-looking skin which the main ingredient cocoa butter does in spades. It’s also supposed to absorb quickly for a non-greasy feel which it doesn’t. Besides, I wouldn’t call greasy residue a healthy glow.
I’d say it’s a fine, hydrating skincare product if you don’t mind a bit of residue and I’ll reiterate that it smells just lovely.
I got mine on a 2 for 1 sale at Superdrug, I’m not sure if the deal’s still available but it’s worth checking if you want to try this Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Gel Oil.
