My search for awesome hair and the quest to experience the best hair products is still going strong. This week, I get to try hair care products from independent natural skincare brand Purepotions.
I’m new to Purepotions but I love what they stand for already; their products are entirely vegan, cruelty-free and free from any animal derivative.
The brand has a Skin Salvation range which is great for dry and allergy-prone skin. The products in the range are incredibly gentle and nourishing on the skin as they are all made without petrochemicals, perfumes, phthalates, GMOs, PEGs or silicones.
The’ hair care range called the Skin Salvation Hair & Scalp is not very extensive but I reckon it has all the basics for a healthy hair care regiment.
Again, it’s made up of a natural, SLS-free shampoo and conditioner duo as well as a scalp oil that I’ve been very eager to try. The hair products are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free, and have been formulated with rich nourishing plant-based ingredients including chamomile, calendula, hemp seed oil and oats to keep hair healthy, glossy and soft.
Personally, I love the clean smell and feel of the products, and the fact that it’s kind to the body as well as the environment.
All three products are perfect for those prone to allergies, eczema, and itchy scalp, all of which is soothed and hair is nourished by the natural ingredients, including organic cold-pressed oils, herbal tinctures and essential oils.
It can be difficult to find hair care products that do not sting, itch or irritate if you’re prone to allergies, or have sensitive or dry skin. Most shampoos are full of perfumes, preservatives and other synthetic additives that can cause reactions and make looking after hair a real nightmare. This natural shampoo counters all that as it’s a mild, pure, fragrance-free cleanser that works really well to keep hair clean, glossy and in fabulous condition.
After shampooing, damaged, dry or coloured hair may need an extra treatment to really nourish the hair and scalp; the Purepotions Natural Conditioner is another pure and gentle, fragrance-free treatment that works really well to restore softness and glossiness and maintain hair in a healthy condition.
I haven’t used a good scalp oil in a while so I was eager to try this one from Pureportions; after all, healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp.
Made with tea-tree, borage and rosemary, this Skin Salvation Scalp Oil soothes and conditions itchy, flaky scalps. While chemical shampoos strip natural oils from the skin and can dry out sensitive scalps, this scalp oil restores the scalp to a healthy balance.
The entire Pureportions range can be found on the shelves of Holland and Barretts, Boots, Wholefoods, among others.
