Glenfiddich and Forman’s Launch Double Scotch Hamper

The Double Scotch Hamper is the coming together of two great houses- Glenfiddich and Forman & Field.

This Double Scotch Hamper has been launched twice, a soft launch during summer at Forman’s Fish Island with a small group of writers and a big swanky launch this November, also at Forman’s Fish Island.

When it comes to pedigree, there is non-more prestigious than that of Glenfiddich and Forman & Field. Two household names seeped in history and tradition, it’s unsurprising that they would eventually collaborate.

Bringing the best from each house, the Limited Edition ‘Double Scotch’ Hamper contains a pound of genuine wild smoked salmon in two separate packs and 70cl of Glenfiddich’s exceptional Malt Master’s Edition whiskey – spicy with a hint of toasted almonds and fruit cake in a smart wicker basket.

This collaboration shouldn’t come as a surprise; the two houses have quite a lot in common as it happens. Founded in 1887 on Christmas Day by William Grant, Glenfiddich is one of the few single malt distilleries to remain entirely family owned and is now the World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky. While the Forman’s restaurant is also a world famous family owned business established in 1905 by Harry (Aaron) Forman.

The business is now run by great grandson Lance Forman, who claims that Forman’s is now the oldest producer of smoked Scottish salmon in the world.

Supplying some of the world leading chefs, Forman’s has survived and thrived, where other traditional East London smoke houses have disappeared against competition from an increasingly mechanised and commoditised industry. Forman’s prepares everything by hand to time honoured traditions it has employed for over 100 years.

It’s difficult not to get excited about the ‘Double Scotch’ Hamper especially if you are a purveyor of fine foods.
